Tire assistance

Hello friends. I need new tires for my 2012 128i. I have a couple questions I’m hoping to get help on.

I live in North Carolina, where the last 2 years and really as for as the normal goes, we barely snow, and when we do, everything shuts down. I want a summer tire for year round, but all season tires like Continental DWS06, Michelin sport A/S clearly provide a better warranty then most summer tires.

What trade offs do I have to deal with if I decide to roll with a summer tire year round? Obviously I need to be more careful on wet/icy roads but I’m wondering if the advantage of stickier tires will be worth it.

This car is on stock suspension and I’d like to increase it’s street performance.
