This is a high-signal workshop for those whom the standard "operating system" of psychology has failed. If you are here, it is likely because your brain and body are in a state of friction that clinical platitudes cannot fix.
I am u/Sigmund_Freund78, a founding moderator. I am a neurodivergent man mapping a different way to live.
The Origin of the Map
I was born with hydrocephalus and inherited autistic traits. At 13, a mood-altering anaesthetic shifted my neurobiology permanently. I grew up in emotional neglect, spent decades cut off from my own body, and felt "numb" to the core.
Existential Neurobiology is the name I give to the map I built to survive. It is a philosophy of being real—visceral, embodied, and symbolic.
The Protocol (Our Rules of Engagement)
To protect this space from the "black-hat" cynicism and "doomer" noise of the broader internet, we operate under a strict Sovereign Protocol:
- A Workshop, Not a Debate Hall: We are here to build and refine maps of the human struggle. If you are here to "pwn" others, "debunk" suffering, or spread Blackpill/Nihilistic jargon, our AutoModerator will remove you.
- The "Street Medic" Vibe: We value rigor over "niceness." Be constructive and inclusive, but stay grounded in reality. This is a place for those who are "doing the work," not those looking for a place to vent without intent.
- No "Brain Rot": Avoid low-effort memes or dismissive "cope" comments. If your post doesn't add a brick to the wall of our collective understanding, it doesn't belong here.
- NOT CLINICAL ADVICE: I am a sufferer with a map, not a doctor. This is a Philosophical Laboratory. We exploit ideas that work, but you are responsible for your own safety and medical choices.
What to Post
- Embodied Data: Share where your symbolic stories and biological reactions collide (e.g., "Why does my nervous system freeze when I try to speak my truth?").
- Map Drafts: Share theories, neurobiological insights, or philosophical "hacks" that have provided a moment of clarity.
- The Struggle: Honest accounts of feeling emotionally foreign or numb, shared for the purpose of mapping a way out.
How to Get Started
- Check the Wiki [Link]: We use a specific lexicon here. Read the foundational concepts before posting so we can speak the same language.
- Introduce Yourself: Comment below with one specific "glitch" in your neurobiology that psychology failed to explain.
- Monitor the Perimeter: If you see "Black Hat" behavior or "Sealioning" (bad-faith questioning), report it immediately.
Thanks for being part of the first wave. Let's build a map that actually holds weight.
