☕️ Today I took a coffee break near my house and ran into some Reframe Systems representatives… long story short, I watched them drop their modules today!

🏠The most amazing part of the outing was hearing the owners talk about their relationship with Reframe. “It doesn’t feel like we’re doing a business deal with Reframe- it feels like we’re building a home together.”

👷Reframe Systems is based in Massachusetts. This is their first Altadena home. The modules are built in factory, delivered by truck, and craned in. The inside of each module is basically finished out!

📝 Reframe also handles all the permitting. “Listening to the neighbors talk about the One Stop Shop - we haven’t been there once,” the owner said.

📐Size constraints were a major factor in determining which prefab builder to go with. Many companies didn’t have options that fit the owner’s lot and also reached the floor size they wanted. Reframe’s design is about 1500sqft (3 bed 2 bath) and added a 550 sqft ADU (1 bed 1 bath) in the back of the home.

✅They followed IBHS recommendations. This involved upgrading to a deck that was made of a non-flammable material. Throughout the process, Reframe helped confirm that the design exceeded the owner’s insurance’s - California Fair Plan’s - requirements.

♻️The owners are also excited about the energy efficiency and near-Passivehaus standards of their all-electric home. They’ll qualify for the RISE incentives.

👏Thanks to Joan, Mel, Ben, and Justin from Reframe Systems! Awesome to get a selfie with Ben and Justin.

💪Godspeed!
