I ordered these Yamahero P790-style irons off Temu back in July, and they finally showed up. The shipping wait was insane about 40 days.
I’ve only been playing golf since the beginning of this year, so I figured I might as well give them a shot. I paid about $198 for a 4–PW set, and honestly, they hit pretty well for what I paid.
My biggest complaint is definitely the grips. They’re really thin, so I’ll probably replace those pretty soon. The shafts are Golf Hub 105g stiff shafts, and they actually don’t seem that bad. They feel fine to me, and when you catch one clean, the irons feel good and seem pretty accurate.
The other thing I’ve noticed is whatever rubber/speed-foam-looking material they use on the 4–7 irons seems to show wear pretty quickly. You should be able to see what I mean in the picture of the 6 iron. I’m not sure if it’s just cosmetic or something that could become an issue over time.
Before these, I was playing a cheap $100 set I picked up on Marketplace. I kept seeing all the hype around these P790-style/dupe irons and figured for $198, why not try them?
Even my friend who got me into golf and has been playing for around 8 years hit them. He said that on a clean strike, he really couldn’t tell much of a difference in feel.
For now, I’m definitely replacing the grips, but I’ll probably leave the shafts alone since they seem perfectly fine. If the heads hold up over time, I honestly think they’re pretty solid for the money.
Has anyone else tried Yamahero irons or any of these Temu P790-style sets? Curious how they’ve held up long term.
