We built a free portal for insurance adjusters to find temporary housing for displaced policyholders
We just launched a new feature on HostWorld.AI that I think could genuinely help people in tough situations.
The Problem:
When someone's home is damaged by fire, flood, or other disasters, insurance adjusters scramble to find temporary housing for policyholders. It's usually a mess of phone calls, hotel bookings, and last-minute Airbnb searches - often at
inflated prices and in locations far from the policyholder's community.
What We Built:
We created two free portals:
1. For Insurance Adjusters - Submit housing requests on behalf of policyholders with all the claim details (claim number, incident type, special requirements, urgency level). We match them with verified hosts offering mid-term rentals (1-6
months).
2. For Policyholders - If you've been displaced and have an active claim, you can submit your own housing request directly. No middleman needed.
Why Mid-Term Rentals?
Hotels get expensive fast. Most displaced families need housing for weeks or months while repairs happen. Our hosts specialize in furnished rentals for 1-6 month stays - often at a fraction of extended hotel costs.
Features:
- Track request status in real-time
- AI-assisted matching based on location, family size, pets, accessibility needs
- Direct communication with property hosts
- All claim documentation in one place
We're not charging adjusters or policyholders to use the portal. Hosts pay a small fee only when a booking is confirmed.
Would love feedback from anyone in the insurance industry or who's been through this situation. What would make this more useful?
