Fraud and VPN abuse in sweepstakes casinos seems insane. How do operators even manage it? Here's what I do.

Honestly, when I first launched my sweepstakes platform I underestimated this problem badly. Multi-accounting, VPN masking, bonus abuse, bots — it hit faster than I expected and it was bleeding real money.

Here's how I actually manage it now:

VPN detection and geofencing are the first line of defense. Fraudsters use VPNs to fake their location, bypass state restrictions, claim region-locked promos, and dodge KYC entirely. I now block at the network edge — if the IP is flagged as a VPN or proxy, access is denied before they even see a login screen.

Multi-accounting is the biggest revenue leak most operators ignore. I track device IDs and IP addresses across registrations. If one device or IP is tied to multiple accounts, they're flagged instantly. CAPTCHA on registration blocks bot-driven mass account creation. Unique contact info — phone and email — is enforced per account, no exceptions.

Bonus abuse follows multi-accounting like clockwork. The moment someone can spin up five accounts, they're farming welcome bonuses. Tying bonus eligibility to verified identity and device fingerprinting killed most of that overnight for me.

KYC before large redemptions is non-negotiable. I don't let significant Sweeps Coin redemptions go through without identity verification. It slows down edge cases but it completely shut down the organized fraud attempts I was seeing.

The real unlock was getting all of this built into my platform rather than managing it manually. I run on GammaSweep and their anti-fraud system lets me set custom rules, track violations in real time, and take action from one dashboard. Machine learning flags anomalies I'd never catch manually.

Fraud in this space is real but it's manageable with the right stack. If you're building or scaling a sweepstakes operation, don't treat fraud prevention as an afterthought.
