So I saw the “introduce yourself” thread but wanted to post a couple pics of my pickup anyhow so figured I would combine the two.

When I was about 14 one of my dad’s old timer friends passed away and this truck was next to his machine shed into the dirt to its hub caps it had been sitting so long. My dad always had an eye for this truck (any old iron really, it’s hereditary) so after some contemplation he asked the widow what her plans were for it. She had seen him drool over it for a few years at this point and (much like the scene in Joe Dirt) said you can have it for the cash you have on ya, she knew her husband would have wanted him to have it. After some gaffawing he relented (I don’t know the actual price but it was friends discount for sure) and was the proud new owner of this 1946 KB-1 aka Fred. A couple years after him buying it my brother’s auto body class took it on and did some metalwork and put a coat of primer on it. Basically stabilized it and rolled it back into the shed. When I turned 16 I was given Fred and decided to set it on an s10 chassis for modern brakes and suspension with a 250 Chevy, th350 and 10 bolt rear. Soon after the 250 was swapped for a 292 and its horrific fuel economy. This would have been in my early 20’s and fortunately the truck made it thru unscathed. My next thought was to put a Mercedes diesel out of a 300 into it but most of a decade traveling around the country put the truck back into storage and on ice for a while. Now that I am stationary again and have my own shop Fred is back home and will be getting a Mitsubishi diesel out of a dodge plow truck (can’t remember the exact vintage at the moment) so that I can once again cruise to the fishing hole in style. The end haha

I was gonna post this anyhow 👍
