Weekly Economic Calendar for 28.09.2026–04.10.2026
Quarter-end week, which matters on its own — large funds rebalancing into the close of September and Q3 can produce moves that have nothing to do with the data. Worth keeping in mind before attributing every candle to a headline.
Monday, September 28 has nothing scheduled.
Tuesday, September 29 opens with the RBA at 04:30. Rate's at 4.35% after May's hike, and with oil prices climbing on the Middle East conflict feeding into inflation, another increase is genuinely on the table. Bullock's press conference follows at 05:30 — some market participants are already pricing 4.85% by year-end. Then US Consumer Confidence at 14:00, last at 89.4.
Wednesday, September 30 is the crowded one. Australian CPI at 01:30 (+3.5% YoY in July, still above the 2–3% target band), Chinese PMIs at 01:30 and 01:45, German retail sales and final UK Q2 GDP at 06:00, German HICP at 12:00. Then the US block: ADP at 12:15, where the trend is the story — 95K in June, 46K in July, 38K in August, a clear deceleration heading into Friday. Final Q2 GDP and Core PCE at 12:30, with the preliminary GDP read at +1.5% and PCE running +3.3% YoY, well above the Fed's 2% target. Japan's Tankan closes it out at 23:50.
Thursday, October 1 brings Swiss CPI at 06:30 and US ISM Manufacturing at 14:00, which has been solidly expansionary — last at 54.6. Tokyo CPI at 23:30.
Friday, October 2 is the main event. Eurozone flash HICP at 09:00 (+3.2% YoY last), then US labour market data at 12:30 — payrolls, unemployment, average hourly earnings. The recent record is messy: 57K in June against 129K in May and 148K in April, with downward revisions through the spring. Combine that with a decelerating ADP trend and a soft print is the risk case.
One practical note: Australia switches to daylight saving on Saturday, October 3, so session times shift from next week. If your setup depends on specific hours, check them against UTC rather than assuming.
