Savage MSR-10

So I'm looking to get back into competition after being out of the game for over 20 years. I shot NRA Service Rifle back in the day, so would be doing that, and also the newer AR Tactical category. Would definitely want a rifle that can fit into both rule sets, and an AR-10 in .308 seems to fit the bill.

After perusal through here, it seems obvious that a Savage bolt-action is on most peoples naughty list, but what about their semi-autos? Anyone have a first hand opinion on the MSR-10 Precision?
