I accidentally fell in love through this album I made alone — it’s called Days Before Summer
Hey, I go by Maudredi — I’m an artist from the San Fernando Valley. 818, Los Angeles… whatever you want to call it. I just call it home.
I made this album in isolation. I didn’t set out to make something special — honestly, I was just trying to make sense of my own head. I think it started as a response to someone else’s project, something inspired by imaginary love stories. But somewhere along the way, this thing became real to me.
It’s called Days Before Summer. 8 tracks. It plays like a rom-com, but not the one where everything works out. More like the ones where you think you’re falling in love with someone else, and by the end, you realize the whole time, you were just trying to find yourself.
Track 1 (Intro - Cassett #1) feels like a spell being cast by accident. Like manifesting a summer so perfect it can’t possibly last.
Track 2 (Can I Kick It?) is the meet-cute.
Track 3 (The Break) is Gatsby energy — throwing linen shirts into the air just to prove something.
Then Do You Love Me? and I’m Sorry, I’m Trying hit… and that’s where it turns inward. You start to see it’s not about “her” anymore.
The interludes (Cassett #1 and #2) are like voicemails from a parallel universe.
Track 7 (What Happened While I Was Gone?) is the comedown. The reality check.
And the last song, The Sunday Song, is what I imagine it feels like to sit in your car after the best summer of your life… realizing it’s over, and it’ll never feel quite like that again.
This album hurt to make. But it healed something, too. If you’ve ever fallen for someone who might not exist — or tried to hold onto a feeling you couldn’t name — I think this might resonate.
No pressure to listen to all of it. Even one track means something.
Much love,
Maudredi
