BLOODY POSSESSION
I was calmly wiping off my makeup when she called me… sobbing.
Lily: “What are you doing? Where even are you?!”
Me: “I was playing with my cat… wait. Are you crying?”
Lily: “We broke up!” She cries harder.
Me: “Aw… I’m so sorry.”
Lily: “And guess what? I just turned on the TV—he’s dead! A murder, no trace. Isn’t that shocking? Why would someone kill him?!”
Me: “Yeah… surprising.”
When she reluctantly hangs up, still sobbing, silence settles in the room.
I giggle into the emptiness, eyes drifting to the kitchen sink—
the knife there, dark and patient,
stubbornly refusing to be washed clean.
I smile at my reflection.
Dark eyes, glazed.
Lipstick smeared.
Blood sliding slowly down my chin.
I look at his blood pooling on the floor and whisper in a silky, velvet voice,
“How does it feel, being part of the graveyard now? You should’ve noticed the warning signs… but you chose to test my resolve.”
I tilt my face, deadly, cooing to the blood like a small child.
“Seems you had to pay your whole life for being a bad cat owner—
for betraying your own cat for another.”
I chuckle louder this time, the sound echoing, before silence falls again.
Crazy. Insane but-
Satisfied.
For ruining someone who chose to break what was mine.
I smile wickedly and finally turn towards you.
“R.I.P… I never said it was a real cat.”
