Caribbean / Karaibe

I originally posted this in the FB group. Perhaps someone can help me out here:

I've tried translating the first paragraph of the English-language Wikipedia's article named "Caribbean". Please tell me what I got wrong! A word for gulf (big bay) still seems to be missing:

"The Caribbean […] is a region of the Americas that consists of the Caribbean Sea, its islands […] and the surrounding coasts. The region is southeast of the Gulf of Mexico and the North American mainland, east of Central America, and north of South America."

Karaibe aria da Amerike; le inda Karaibi Samude, li nesia, e cirku du tate. Aria loku sudodongi da Meksikia (Gulf? Big Bay?) e da nordameriki xefodexe, dongi da Jungi Amerike, e nordi da Sudi Amerike.
