JIJI - We wish we were more disabled than we actually are. (TRANSABLED COMING OUT POST)
This is something that all of us, as a system, have felt for a very long time now. It's really hard for us to come out and share this with the world, but we can't just keep this part of ourselves hidden forever. It's not good to bottle things up anyway, and we would much rather be true to ourselves.
Now, as a disclaimer (though this is something everyone already knows), we are disabled. Mentally disabled, not physically. Autism, PTSD, anxiety, ADD, DID, suspected BPD and depression. Disabilities that are not exactly outwardly presenting all the time, but are more so affecting us on the inside.
But that's the thing. Where it starts to get complicated. We don't want to be inwardly disabled. We want to be more outwardly disabled. Specifically, we want to have a wheelchair. And not only that, but we want to act in a way that is basically exasperated. We want to act way more disabled than we actually are. It's gotten to a point where we've been looking into wheelchairs on Amazon. It's something we are more than likely going to be buying in the future. How far out that future is still hasn't been decided on due to things like our current living situation, our job, and money related things as well. But we see buying ourselves a wheelchair as the first step on our journey of being able to present and act more outwardly disabled than we really are.
We don't need a wheelchair. We aren't physically disabled. But we sure do wish we were. I guess you could say that we identify with the term 'transabled'.
Our first step will be buying the wheelchair. Then our next step will be starting slow with going outside with it. Eventually leading to outings in which we don't go to public places, and then outings to very public places in which we will be able to fully present and be perceived as an outwardly/physically disabled individual. We've put time into thinking about this. And while we aren't entirely certain which specific transabled IDs we're going to be associating with/will become part of our life, one thing we are planning on is starting a new TikTok for us to post all about our journey as a transabled person.
We'll be updating more on our transabled journey in the future as we're able to progress things along. This has been hard for us to share, but also feels really good to finally get out there. This is who we are, who we want to be, and this is a lifestyle that we are fully confident will help us and will make us happy. Heck, even just thinking about it gives us a rush!
Anyway, we thank you for understanding, to those who do. And to those who don't...that's alright. This is our life, not anyone else's and we're more than willing to pursue what we want.
