Span Panel with battery, no solar?
Reading and researching to figure out my first electrification move. We're in Austin TX and have power backup on our minds after the last few years - as you might imagine. I also want to begin moving away from direct carbon producing appliances, so a fossil-fueled generator is not high on my list. I understand that batteries are not ideal for backup, but with a Span panel to manage load, I'm thinking it might work. And of course solar can and will be added later, but I'm not ready for that yet. My roof is less than ideal for panels and my lot is lss than ideal for ground mount panels. There is a solution there, but it would come with a future planned transformational remodel of the house.
Has anyone put in a battery only backup system with a Span? I might consider Span+Battery+small generator type system with the idea that the genrator would go away once solar was added.
