Zoomable flashlights are super useful for daily carry and outdoor work. But designing a truly professional zoom light is far trickier than most people realize. There are three core pain points that many zoom lights still struggle with:

**Beam transition performance**

When zoomed in (spot mode), it needs a tight, laser-like beam for long-distance throw. When zoomed out (flood mode), it should illuminate a wide area evenly. This relies heavily on precise optical focusing distance carefully tuned by optical designers.

**TIR lens + driver efficiency**

With a TIR lens setup, light loss becomes a big issue. To maximize output, electronic and optical engineers have to work closely together to optimize the driver for high efficiency and minimize beam wastage.

**Waterproofing & thermal expansion conflict**

This is a tricky mechanical problem. If you crank up the waterproof rating too high, thermal expansion and contraction inside the sealed housing can cause the zoom head to automatically retract when the light heats up.

The SPERAS PZ16 solves all three of these classic zoom flashlight engineering headaches.

Equipped with the Luminus SFT42R LED, it delivers up to 2400 lumens max output and a 726m throw at tight spot. Smooth zoom lets you switch instantly from a sharp laser-like spot to a broad flood beam. The co-designed TIR optics and high-efficiency driver cut down light loss significantly. The refined sealing and zoom mechanism handles thermal expansion well, maintaining IP65 water resistance without unwanted auto-retraction of the zoom head.

Runs on a single 18650 battery with USB-C charging, 6061 aerospace aluminum body, 1.5m impact resistance. Great for hunting, camping, search tasks and EDC.
