SIU - solved this but not sure satisfied with the solution...

No spoilers please.

So the side lava cave, that puzzle far in with the three purple rings that leads to the heart with the monster gauntlet.

The radio thing told me I have everything I need to solve it, so I know I didn't at least do it prematurely (just got back from the lava castle with the forcecube and translocator).

I couldn't think of a way to get the Force Cube through all three, so I brought the purple pipe with me... which the rings sure enough did react to, but... that pipe seems to be glitchy anywhere you put it down. I ended up finding a spot where it repeatedly hits the top rings and put the cube in the bottom one.

Surely that's not the intended solution? I was a little surprised the rings reacted to the pipe because I couldn't really imagine the game intending you to use it. Even if you have to place it so it falls a certain place at a certain time - the fact that it changes size between when you're holding it and when you're not holding it, doesn't really make for a reliable "I'll settle it in this spot" and seems like those purple pipes were only intended to connect to other pipes and nothing more.

If that's not the solution, please don't say outright what it is, I'd like to figure it out, but just confirm this - was I meant to use the pipe or not?

Also please would prefer an explanation and not a lazy video link, would rather not click it and accidentally hit a spoiler in the recommendation or whatever.
