Hey Reddit,

Has anyone else noticed the uptick in drone sightings globally, particularly in the New Jersey/New York area? Over the past few weeks, there have been reports of unidentified drones flying in restricted zones, hovering over populated areas, and even near critical infrastructure.

Globally, reports are coming in about drones spotted near airports, military bases, and other high-security locations, raising serious concerns about safety and privacy. In NJ and NY, sightings have been reported near key landmarks, prompting investigations by local authorities.

The FAA has strict regulations on where and how drones can operate, but these sightings seem to be pushing those boundaries. Some theories suggest these drones might be operated by hobbyists unaware of the rules, while others suspect more nefarious motives, such as spying or testing security responses.

The big question is: what’s behind this surge? Is it just the result of more accessible technology and increased drone usage, or is there something more coordinated at play?

What are your thoughts? Have you noticed anything unusual in your area? And how do you think authorities should handle this growing trend?

Would love to hear your take, especially if you’re in NJ/NY or have seen anything firsthand!

Stay safe, everyone.
