After several years of building this universe, I've finally published the first novel set in it.

One thing that always bothered me about a lot of space colonization stories is how quickly humanity becomes an interstellar civilization. A colony appears, people arrive, and somehow everything just works.

I wanted to explore the opposite approach.

What would it actually take for humanity to build an interstellar civilization if every major decision took decades to show its consequences?

That idea became **The Expansion Protocol**.

The novel follows more than a century of scientific progress, engineering, autonomous infrastructure, and institutional continuity as humanity slowly expands from Earth to the Moon, Mars, the outer Solar System, and eventually the nearest stars.

There are no alien invasions.

No galactic wars.

No chosen heroes.

The protagonists are scientists, engineers, physicians, and administrators trying to solve problems one generation at a time.

If you enjoy hard science fiction focused on realistic space exploration, long-term planning, and worldbuilding, I'd love to hear what you think.

More than anything, I'm interested in discussing the ideas behind it. What do you think would be the biggest challenge in building humanity's first interstellar civilization?

What if building an interstellar civilization took generations instead of heroes?
