How we untangled reporting chaos after merging two stores into Shopify
Wanted to share a small win because this problem was genuinely messy for months.
We migrated from WooCommerce to Shopify recently, but it wasn't a simple lift-and-shift — we merged two separate websites (one of which was already on Shopify) into one store, and launched a third line of business at the same time. So suddenly we had one Shopify instance trying to represent three different businesses with totally different revenue and expense patterns, and no clean way to split the data.
We ended up working with a support team (shoutout to Report Pundit) to build custom fields and reports just for this situation. What stood out wasn't just that they got it done — it's that every time we brought them a weird, non-standard request, the answer was never "that's not really possible." They just kept finding a way to model it.
Still refining things as we go, but for anyone else who's dealt with a messy multi-store consolidation, curious how you all handled reporting/attribution across merged businesses. Did you build custom solutions too, or find an app that handled it out of the box?
