is it worth upgrading from 5060ti 16gb to 5070?
Current spec:
-
ASUS TUF Gaming B850 Plus (new)
-
32GB DDR6 6000Mhz
-
9600x (new)
-
5060ti 16GB
I've been buying used PC's harvesting and swapping parts by finding absolute bargains and have ended up with the above for under £1000. It also has 1.5tb of NVME M2 storage and about the same in SSD storage. All housed in a Lancool 207 so it stays cool
The main purpose is video editing (2x 1080p cameras upscaled to 4k) within DaVinci Resolve and a lot of casual gaming along the lines of Enshrouded, Valheim, Fortnite, Minecraft
If I'm being honest, I couldn't tell the difference coming from 16gb of 4800Mhz ram and a 4060ti 8 gb to the 32Gb of ram and 5060ti 16gb. And this is with 2k monitors
There's also the 9070XT option but I've heard Nvidia is better for video editing
The 5070 is £530 on Amazon currently and I think I could get a good price for the 5060ti. I also have my eye on a used PC and may swap my 9600x and 5060ti for a 7800x3d and 5070, and not lose any money
