Moms — do you intentionally “teach” your kids at home or just let them learn naturally?
I’m curious how other moms approach this.
For kids around 4–6 years old, do you actually set aside time to teach things at home?
Things like:
• letter sounds
• numbers
• writing letters
• reading together
• little learning games
Or do you mostly just let kids learn through play and daily life?
I’ve been trying to do about 45–60 minutes of focused learning time with my child each day (nothing intense — just simple stuff), and I’m surprised how much faster things seem to click when it becomes a routine.
But at the same time I don’t want to push too hard or make learning feel like pressure.
So now I’m wondering what’s normal.
Do you:
• intentionally teach things at home?
• just read books together?
• follow some kind of curriculum?
• mostly let school handle it?
Also curious — what age did your kids start recognizing letters or reading simple words?
Every kid seems so different.
