Built a tool that turns any song into MIDI (melody + chords), figured I'd share
I produce under the name Rectrix, and one thing that's always bugged me is how much friction there is in pulling chords or melody from a reference track, splitting stems, transcribing by ear, or waiting forever on some desktop app.
So I built KeyTone. Drop in a song and it transcribes melody and chords straight from the mix in about a minute, no stem separation wait needed, though there's an option to run it if you want cleaner, more accurate MIDI off a single instrument. It also does track analysis (BPM, key, sections), a chord improver for smarter voicings if you're building something from scratch, and a MIDI generator if you just want structured ideas fast.
There's also a couple tools built more for DJ/mashup-brained people: a real-time BPM/key changer with live faders (basically a CDJ in your browser), tap-tempo BPM tools, and a "similar songs" finder if you're hunting for reference tracks with a matching vibe.
It's live now, free tier with no card needed. Still actively improving it based on feedback, so if anyone tries it and it botches something or you'd want a feature added, genuinely want to hear it.
