Toner foiling with non OEM toner

Hey everyone. Has anyone had good success with toner foiling using off-brand toner cartridges? I have an EcoPro subscription (Brother HL-L2400DWE), but I want to end that and start using non-OEM toner from Amazon. I use it for foiling, so the outpit has to be really good and it nust lay down toner well for the print (and not splatters everywhere etc). Any recommendations? Or advice and experiences? Thank you all in advance.
