You’re not overthinking — you’re trying to feel safe

I’ve noticed that what we call “overthinking” is often something deeper.

It’s not just random thoughts.

It’s your mind trying to make sense of inconsistency, lack of clarity, or emotional uncertainty.

When someone’s behavior is confusing, your brain keeps replaying things to find a pattern — because clarity feels like safety.

So maybe it’s not that you “overthink too much”…

Maybe you just haven’t been given enough emotional security.

Curious if others relate to this or see it differently.
