Should I call about a new prescription?
I was prescribed buspirone and lamcital last Wednesday on a first appointment with a new psych, lamcital got filled by my pharmacy almost instantly, but buspirone is still not filled today, Monday. I understand that pharmacies and medical offices do not work on weekends, but is 2 and a half days enough to be concerned? I haven't been prescribed anything in a long time and I'm unsure of how all of this works now, from what I've read, buspirone is one of those ones that people abuse, but this is the entire reason I was told by my therapist to seek medication: for severe anxiety that causes me to not be able to do much, let alone keep progressing in figuring my life out as I'm in a transitional period. We have done a lot of CBT/DBT to try and manage the anxiety, but my panic attacks are often triggered very fast and by very little, coupled with my PTSD. My worry is that if I call about this medication not being filled, that I look like someone who has the intention of abusing this medication. Does anyone have any experience with this or advice? My parents say to call, but again, I worry about how I'll sound on the phone wanting a medication people abuse. Any advice/experience shared is appreciated!
