Men's ascot sizing - small?

Just got my size 13 men's ascot UGGs. They're super comfy but pretty tight. It's not really a length thing, seems just tight on my foot in general. I've read you need to size up for the ascot. I normally wear a 12 in dress shoes and 13 in sneakers.

I guess my question is, will these break in or do I need to order a bigger size? I've never had to order a 14 in anything.
