Problems with SanDevices Controller

This is my first year and experience with pixel light shows. I have a SanDevices E682 controller (latest firmware) and am using XLights and FPP on a raspberry pi. Completely separate network from my home network/wifi. When using both xSchedule and FPP the E682 will freeze mid sequence. The lights will stop updating and eventually something resets and it starts working again. xSchedule will show the controller as failed. I have an ESP32 running other strings of pixels and it doesn't skip a beat.

I don't believe it's power supply rated as I have a 30 amp power supply and there are only a handful of leds powered at the times it freezes.

I wish I did more research before purchasing the E682 as it seems there are a number of better choices out there but I'm trying to make what I have work for this season.
