Consensual meat eating

NSFWSpoiler

What if another person gave a vegan their explicit and enthusiastic consent to eat their meat, would if be against being vegan?

If you as a human give consent then it's considered vegan. It might not be legal depending on exactly what you do and the laws of different countries, but it would be vegan so long as there's no exploitation and full consent is given.

See also - breast milk, male ejaculate, among other things that get asked far too often that I wonder what some people spend their time doing.

In most cases, I believe consent to eat someone would be invalid because it would be coming from severe mental health problems. I believe it’s unethical to harm someone even if they consent to it.

However, there are exceptions where no harm is caused, like this guy who made tacos from his severed foot (warning: some mildly gory photos): https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/8p5xlj/hi_all_i_am_a_man_who_ate_a_portion_of_his_own/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf.

Exactly. If someone is allowing you to eat parts of their body (with very rare exceptions aside where no additional harm is caused or in survival situations), then I don't believe that the individual has the capacity to consent, considering the evident severity of their mental unwellness. Thus I wouldn't consider it consensual in 99.9% of cases. And thus, not vegan.

No problem at all. Animals can't consent, humans can.

The only problem is that it would be illegal :)

cannibalism in and of itself is usually not illegal if it's consensual but cannibalism is usually associated with murder or other illegal ways to harvest someone's flesh. don't quote me on that

This question reminds me of Douglas Adams work. here's a weird reading of what I'm talking about

Here is a longer clip, and one with video. The dialog between the Earthlings and the non Earthlings is interesting. The lack of logic of the Earthings who eat meat would be hilarious, if it weren't so commonly true among non fictional meat eaters.
Did the Earthlings in the story go vegan after that? Not that the author mentioned. Arthur Dent didn't want to talk about the subject nor think about the ramifications.

The animal who wanted to be eaten is funny since most animals would not give consent! Maybe they figured out how to breed a suicidal animal.
