Bassinets - opinions

We have a second baby coming in the summer and I need to crowd source recommendations for bassinets. We had a SNOO with our first and hated it. Hated it so so much. We then switched my son to a crib which resulted in no more than 2 hr stretches until it turned into a floor bed then he slept great. So I’m keeping the floor bed set up but I’m not sure what to do for the first few months. Also about 60% of our issues with the snoo we’re glitches so maybe something not too high tech.

I plan on getting a halo for my second because I really struggled to pick my first up (and to bend to look at him) after my csection out of the short but deep bassinet we had.

I agree I had a rough delivery with my first and having to stand up to get him from the snoo was torture for a good while.

We loved the Halo for both of our boys! My first slept better when we moved him to a crib at 10 months. My 2nd would still be in the halo but now he’s too big at 9 months for it, so we have his crib in our room. I didn’t miss any of the high tech things that something like the snoo would have offered.

Another vote for Halo Bassinet! I loved ours so much. I do think it's a bit expensive considering it can only be used until baby is 8 weeks old or at first signs of rolling (whichever comes first). If you're on a budget, I definitely recommend checking your local marketplace. Somebody is even giving one away in my local Buy Nothing Facebook group.

Another vote for Halo! I’m not sure if it’s different, but we had the Halo BassiNest and it’s good for up to 5 months or 20lbs. Highly recommend it!

Yes! I had the Bassinest! It's stored in my baby's nursery even though I'm confident I'm one and done. I fear I will change my mind one day and I REALLY want the Halo if I do. lol

We loved it! I’m lucky because my SIL has one, so it was on loan to us lol. If we need to for a second baby I’d totally buy one, but probably check marketplace first. They are kinda pricey brand-new!

Thank you all for all the feedback! I’ll have to do a deep dive on the Halo. I certainly know a lot of people use them & I see them all the time so I’m sure it’s a solid brand!

Halo bassinest is what we have- can slide up and over the bed which was extremely helpful for C-section recovery. The side closest to you folds down so you can (attempt to) comfort without sitting up. Also has a few nice extra features that are helpful, sounds, vibrations and night light.

honestly i just used the bassinet attachment for the pack n play, and then when she was too big but we still wanted to room share, we just took it off and continued with the pack n play.

Yeah, I go back to this idea a lot. I have a guava lotus pack n play and I don’t have the bassinet attachment so I’m debating. It doesn’t have any storage which is a little bit of a bummer.

We’re getting the babybay, I’ve heard great things and I’m excited to be close but safe!

We got a used Arms Reach cosleeper and it has worked just fine. It's pretty big so it takes up a lot of space in our room but baby still fits in it even though he pretty long at 3 months. I didn't think it was worth it to get anything fancy since he would only be in it for a few months. I get up to nurse in the living room at night and we don't cosleep in the bed at all.
