I think they're not getting the minerals the need from their water? I know you can't drink purified, maybe also distilled? I dunno. But I've heard that if a cat won't drink their water, get a different kind with minerals or spring water, and if they still don't drink it (or still prefer toilets etc), as a little sparkling water or an ice cube so there something interesting for ten to check out. Hope that helps!

My orange pouting cause I wouldn't let her drink my bath water which contained tea tree and aloe and was toxic for her.

Also mad I will not let him try people soup. He also likes to take his own baths though and when the tub is empty he will lay in there and roll around for me to pet him.

Tasty! Human soup!
I used to soak my feet in an Epsom salt footbath. I wound up with 2 kittens (longish story involving an ex). One night, I'm soaking my feet, head back, eyes closed, relaxing, and suddenly become aware that I am hearing little lapping sounds.
I look down, and there are the kittens drinking my foot bath. I loudly say "no", they step back and look at me, then look at the foot bath. They slowly start moving back to drink more of the yummy salty foot soup. I grabbed the water and dumped it out. That was the end of foot baths.
For those who don't know, Epsom salts can also be used as laxatives. One of them didn't make it to the litter box in time later that night. She was close, within inches, but just didn't make it.
One of those two also went on to stick her nose in the bath water and blow bubbles. After she did that three baths in a row, that was the end of soaking in the tub (bathroom door didn't latch).
