Mine has the same little cut out. Functions as intended with no issues.

There seems to be this square chip in the glass at the bottom of the optics somehow, just wondering if this is normal - do others see this too? Sorry for the bad quality photo - it's hard to focus on it because it's transparent.
Mine has something similar too, if the display looks ok while turned on you should not worry
