I just finished playing the half-life 2 VR beta and it's amazing to see how a 2004 game holds up in VR. It really adds a whole new dimension to it <3 The visuals are so much more spectacular in the immersive environment. And the gameplay benefits too, especially the gunplay is terrific, and the whole taking cover mechanic (which didn't really exist in the original) feels natural.

I was just thinking, as Black Mesa Source is also based on the same engine, perhaps you could work with them to integrate this? It would be great to experience your remake in VR as well. There's a HL1 original mod but it's a bit underwhelming because HL1 does really show its age.

Hi Everyone,

I was hoping you could help me with some advice. I got a call this morning from a lady speaking very fast Spanish, and it sounded like she was from Endesa and there was a problem that caused me to pay too much. But it turned out later that she was from another energy company and she wanted to change my contract. The usual scammers.

However it was really hard to speak with her with my limited English. I know in the Netherlands these scammers can sometimes take over your contract even if you say "Yes" at some point and she did ask me a few times to confirm my name to which I said "Si". So I'm a bit worried now that they might be changing my contract because the conversation was

Something happened to me and I wanted to run this by you, as I've read about something similar before.

I was walking at the back of Park Guell (the non-restricted area) and I passed a girl and guy on my way up the hill, who were walking separately.

Suddenly I felt something wet in my neck and I stopped. The girl came up to me and said "caca de parajo" or something. Bird shit, so.. She offered me some wipes which was nice, but then she gave some to the guy as well and he started rubbing my backpack which had it all over as well. It was some sweet smelling green stuff.

I held my hands on my pocket but he did get very close to there even though there wasn't any on it. At this point I started

I've signed up with Philips's recall program here in Spain as I have two System One's (one Auto CPAP, one regular). This was early last year when it all started. I got an automated email back with "We're waiting on approval from authorities" or something. And since then silence.. Nada.

Has anyone actually got any kind of action from Philips on this?

The auto one I still use as the one I got from the local health service always gives me a cough after a few days.. It's refurbished but I don't think it's been properly cleaned. The regular CPAP from Philips I got as a 'backup' but never really used and there is a very strong plastic smell and a black sooty residue if I let it blow into a facem

Hi! I've been using MicroG on my phone for years (using the Lineage-MicroG builds) and I love it.

However on my work phone I use google pay sometimes to pay for meals on my company card, as we have to use Google there anyway (they use the google framework for management). And it is really convenient. I don't want to use Google personally and have them gather all my payment data however.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to accomplish mobile payments in a privacy-conscious way. I know MicroG doesn't implement payment functionality and I don't think it could without buy-in from the banks anyway. But perhaps there is a payment provider with their own apps that is reasonably privacy-con

Hey, they've opened a Sandwichez franchise in my area and I noticed there's a ton of people using laptops there all the time, just like all the other branches. I was wondering why, I don't see this at the other franchise sandwhich shops, like 365 or Granier.

I was just wondering about this because I work from home a lot and I was thinking of trying it ;) What makes those so popular for this? Do they have fast internet compared to the others, or do they let you sit there as long as you want or something?

I'm moving to the security team at work and they'd like me to do the CEH thing. So I thought great, I'll just self-study, pay $150 bucks or so and do the exam at VUE like I've done with others. I hate classroom training and it's often too slow for me. I have a lot of IT experience (I've been IT architect for many years) and Linux in particular so I shouldn't have any issues doing it myself, I'm not afraid to put in long hours if I need to. I have a big home lab for anything I need. I've not really been in security roles in the past but I've had many cases of overlap of course.

However as it turns out, this exam is very expensive and they won't even let you take it without applying. The pric

I've been playing X-Plane a lot from the couch with my old Oculus Quest. It worked great. I greatly prefer it over MSFS 2020 because it actually allows using the VR controllers, and the ergonomic yoke function is amazing. It really feels like a real plane. I don't use the link cable but virtual desktop as it allows me to sit on the couch instead of at my PC.

I recently upgraded to an Oculus Quest 2, but I now run into a strange problem. Every minute or so, my ergonomic controller disassociates and it pulls the virtual flightstick hard back and to the side. Obviously this does not provide for a comfortable flight :D

I wonder if anyone else ran into this issue, and if it can be fixed. I know

I've been looking for the answer to this question all over the internet but I can't find it. I've read many people having achieved exploration elite with this mission. What I'm wondering if whether the entire mission earnings count towards the elite level in exploration? If so this would give it a significant boost (I think it earns about 112 million and you need 160M to get elite). But I just wanted to confirm this, it could also be that those people just scanned a lot of systems along the way.

I'm doing it now but if this is not the case I might stop it and do something else, because if money is the only reward there's far quicker ways :)

r/Cylance•

I'd like to check the status of Cylance for Mac using a custom attribute on my MDM. So that I can check if each Mac has Cylance properly enabled etc. Of course I could use the Cylance console for this but unfortunately I have no access as it's managed by a different team.

I was wondering if anyone knows a command to check the status. I've been looking around in the docs but I didn't find anything. I did find a file /Library/Application Support/Cylance/Desktop/Status.json that contains a lot of info, but if someone stops the Cylance binary it will stills how the old status. So it's not accurate.

Hi Everyone,

I've been looking for info about the Garmin InReach Mini and I saw that this subreddit was the main one where this product is being discussed.

I have a question that I can't find anywhere on the Garmin site. So I was wondering if you guys who actually use the product know the answer.

I'm thinking of getting an InReach Mini for emergency connectivity mainly. I was looking at the "Safety" plan, but this plan has a 10 cent charge for location pins and tracking points.

Now, I know you get 10 messages per month, and I would like to use them sometimes. And I know the device checks for messages once every hour. But what I'm won

I would really like to get some user feedback on this. I currently have the following setup:

  • USG (basic)
  • Unifi controller on Raspberry Pi 3
  • A bunch of access points

I'm considering moving to Unifi cameras as my Pi-based MotionEyeOS cams keep crashing :( And they now have the cheap 29-buck cameras. They'll do for me. Maybe one regular G3 at the front door with hardwiring but for the rest of the house WiFi will be fine.

However I understand the Unifi protect software is not available for raspberry pi, so I'll need to move to a real Unifi option. I was considering this anyway as I keep having Java issues when upgrading the controller on the Pi, and it's proven its worth by now. But it

Hi Everyone,

I'm using a Fire TV stick, which is pretty ok for the price.. I also have Amazon Prime.

However what really annoys me is that it is constantly forcing trailers before watching something for stuff I'm not interested in at all. Does anyone know if there's any way to block these? I've been googling but I don't find much about it.
