32 [M4R] - USA, NC / Anywhere

Between the pandemic, working from home, having kids, and moving to a new state, I have absolutely no local people I know. I live in the triangle area of NC, but if you want an online chat - you’re still welcome to message me.

I do research in automated binary analysis, I have a PhD from Louisiana Tech university. I also have masters in electrical engineering but I haven’t done much with that. Computers and electronics are my main hobbies as well, but I’ve also gotten into woodworking, making ice cream, bread, and 3d printing. Some of my hobbies are a bit of fusion of other hobbies - I make speakers, nixie clocks, magic mirrors, and currently trying to fix an 80s synthesizer.

Favorite books and movies are in the sci fi genre, but fantasy is cool too. Some of my favorite book classics are Dune, Neuromancer, Cryptonomicon, Snow Crash, and Isaac Asimov's Foundation. Movie classics - The Matrix, Blade Runner, Robocop, Total recall. I enjoy retro wave music and outrun - FM-84, Kavinskiy, Kraftwerk, and Laserhawk. Though lately it’s been a lot of baby shark and Cocomelon 🥲. Favorite video games are in the city builder genre. Caesar III has been my goto to relax, but lately it’s been replaced by Nebuchadnezzar. I grew up playing GTA 2, quake 2, doom 2, knights & merchants, tzar, age of empires 1, and submarine titans. I have about 700 games on steam though so there’s a bunch more I like.
