Price of MonteCristo number 2

NSFW

My wife is going to be in Bogota the next few weeks for a wedding and she will be able to visit a reputable shop in Bogota for purchasing a few Cubans. Their price per cigar for the Montecristo number 2 is about $31 a piece. You think that's reasonable?

My local shop in Canada has them for $70 each...

$31 is a little pricey unless they are aged but you’re paying more for singles. Best box price I’ve seen recently was $560 and they sold out in seconds

Well reasonable is whatever the market supports. Right now Cuban prices are going up and up.

It wouldn't have been reasonable a couple years ago. With prices what they are now, I'd say it is, especially from a B&M.

In this market and for such a popular cigar, any price you're willing to pay is reasonable. It's incredibly hard to find these and prices are stupid compared to what they were a few years ago. It's not really possible shop around for the best deal on something like a Monte 2.

Your wife may have luck in duty free, but that can be hit or miss these days and she'd have to shop on her way home so you'd be rolling the dice.

She has to buy them at casa de puros in Bogota. The only place where she's guaranteed the genuine. And I'm pretty sure the price is not negotiable.

Number twos are $31 in Bogota. It's expensive but the same cigar could cost you three times as much in some places.
