To the people that kick the ball returns out of anger, did your fathers never love you?

One of these days there will be an uprising by the ball returns, and they will start kicking/punching back!

Correct, but him yelling at me for doing that was a lot less awkward than yelling at me for ā€œintentionally ignoring his coachingā€ when I missed 2 boards right as a 13 year old.

Glad he’s not my coach anymore, I just get to go have a smoke between games instead.

Good guess OP!

I’ve only coached for one year, but the amount of parents that are hard on there kids in bowling is insane

Knee swollen? Finish practice. Thumb bleeding in game 8 of 9? No moving to 2 handed for the end of the tournament (2003, far before the rule change). Fail to make the proper adjustment? Stubbornly thinking I know better.

Did it get me to a 210 average at 15 years old? Yeah. Was it worth it? Absolutely the fuck not.

Any parents out there whose kids might be acting out when they struggle - please reflect on whether or not it's your pressure making them feel like if they fail to hit average, they lose your approval.

He did….that’s why he told me to kick it with my foot instead of punching it with my bowling hand.
