This or https://www.mototecheng.com/product/scarburator/ ????
My scarburator took months to ship. Seems to work well though.
Mototech is literally just a dude in his garage that really likes SCARs. He's swamped with orders and can only make like 3 an hour.
I got my scarburator gen3 for my 17s after a 3 month lead time, and it worked well on my 1 and only range trip. I can't get it to fail suppressed on the lowest gas setting but I'm too lazy to swap the gas jets and further tune. It is very pleasant for a 308 in its current suppressed configuration.
Yeah I just wish he would be honest about his lead time. He gave me that it will ship next week bit like 4 times each weeks apart. If he has just said almost 6 months it would have been fine but I wouldn’t have had to make sure there wasn’t some issue or my order got lost.
Fuck it I'll try out one of these. Now to just get rid of the god awful SCAR 17 stock muzzle brake so I can mount a can.
Protip to take off the brake and jam nut just get 2 wrenches and squeeze them together to separate them
Let me know how this works for you, I'm happy with the mototech 3 position drum but if the juice is worth the squeeze happy to switch
Will do. Any advice for torquing on a suppressor mount? I ordered the Dead Air SCAR 17 specific flash hider a few minutes ago, not sure if there's anything special needed to hold/fix the barrel in place when mounting a new device.
I just use Rocksett and the Gutentight method. I put on the DA brake like 3 years ago and have never had problems with it loosening or anything

My thoughts exactly. Thanks jay with pew science for zeroing me in on this
Why do I need this?
Adjusting the gas system for different ammo or surpressed/unsurpressed
Base scar is overgassed for reliability. This allows you to fine tune the amount of gas you're letting into the system, which allows reducing felt recoil or running it really dirty (the two extremes). Also if you have a suppressor you'll need to turn the gas down because they trap more gas and make more act on the piston.
Thanks!

How do these compare to the scarburator (these names are fucking ridiculous BTW)
I think they’re too new to have much info on. Here’s a thread talking a bit about it.
Interesting. Thanks. I just ordered a scarburator a couple weeks ago so I'm thinking about canceling and giving this one a shot.
The Scarburator replaces the stock gas settings of full venting and more restrictive (more gas for adverse) while this retains those two stock settings while adding a third (with multiple adjustment settings in that third position). All of this info comes from u/Jay462 / Pew Science.
Retains only the stock full gas setting, actually.
Ah, thanks for the clarification!
