IL license help

Hey all - looking at acquiring a GC + roofing company. I don’t have a license and no lawyer or website seems to have a clear answer on whether his license will transfer.

I saw something about a 7mo grace period and others have suggested I’ll need to apply and test on my own. How long does that take?
