Where do you all order or get your 4K blu rays from. (Question for European/ Belgium Area folks here. Not UK)

Question

I used to order allot of my 4K blu rays through Zavvi.nl, but they have stopped selling them since the Brexit fucked them over with import taxes from UK. I could order from Zavvi.UK but the Tax fees are ridiculous to ship to Europe.

Bookspot.be is pretty good but has very limited choice.

Anybody here from Belgium/Netherlands Europe region who can help me out?

I'm in Denmark and this Danish onlineshop has a lot of the US and UK imports that I am interested in. They might be a bit expensive on the US imports, but the UK imports are usually not totally unfair.

Another Dane here, and I order most of my stuff through Amazon DE, CDON and CoolShop, in addition to a friend in the US who'll send me a box of things I send his way over a varying period of time.

I’ve recently ordered from goldendiscs.ie they seem reasonably priced and have a semi decent selection.

There prices do seem to be pretty good. Can I ask you where you are from? Ever gotten charged for additional customs taxes?

I’m from the Netherlands. No have not been charged extra (yet). Amazon afaik also not charges unless you order above a specific amount. Think I’ve read that somewhere. But it has been a long time since i ordered from UK Amazon.

Awesome. Thank you for the info. My 4K collection thanks you, but my wallet is gonna hate you XD

Amazon UK has removed their VAT and added yours for a long, long time. This hasn't actually changed since Break Shit. For a while, local authorities were stupid and couldn't figure that out, so some people will have been hit with customs fees when they shouldn't have.

Of course, Brexit, the 'rona and war have conspired to about double shipping prices.

Interesting cause just after brexit happened I did see my orders becoming a lot more expensive specifically with regards to taxes that where added after selecting your address. Hence I stopped there ordering for a long time. I checked an order last week and it did not increase in pricing anymore.

Rarewaves is a good alternative. Ars sometimes a bit slow with their shipping but usually are very solid

Amazon DE. Of course, I have a Zidoo, in addition to my Panny 824, so I can add subtitles if needed.

Amazon nl and de often have German disks. I’m a sucker for proper packaging. And having non English language in it kinda sucks. So gotta be careful ordering there unfortunately

Do you know a guide for adding subs to a movie with the Panny 824? That would be really useful!

2
NaieraDK•

Unfortunately that's not possible without a modification of sorts, as I understand. I haven't looked into it myself because I have the Zidoo.

Ah I understand, thats too bad!

I am ordering from the Netherlands and have used a lot of the sites already mentioned. I find it can really differ per movie which site is cheapest so I tend to compare a lot.

Only one not mentioned yet is DGMoutlet.nl which sells some 4Ks. Recently got the four Matrix movies Collection there for 35 euro's when it was 70 everywhere else.

I always buy from Amazon US

Don't you get expensive shipping and import fees?

They are manageable at least for me

Marktplaats.nl, Amazon.nl, I still have to order something through Rarewaves though. I'd like to try Coolshop but I read lots of negative reviews. Somebody here with a positive experience?

I've used Coolshop, dodax nl, amazon fr, amazon it (these are the best 2 amazons for steelbooks also) and sometimes u get lucky in bol.com. Ive received my items always, but the first 2 i mentioned can sometimes be a bit slow. Still, always got my items.

Thanks. Amazon and Bol.com are currently my main 2 suppliers
