If you have FPS Shuttering, FPS Spike Look here. (Maybe this Work) Season 16 - EA client

Support

One day after the Season 16 release, I have not been able to play an Apex game without a huge FPS spike or FPS Shuttering.

I have capped my FPS at 165FPS, but I have 30-50 fps in Airship, and when I land my FPS goes up and down total randomly.

Normally my FPS is stable at 165 cap on the ground and 100-130fps in Airship.

What worked for me was not reinstalling windows, removing Windows Xbox, disable of any hardware acceleration in the browser or Discord, looking into different Apex configs, or removing any overlay from Xbox, Discord, or AMD.

No NO! What worked for me was disabling EA client Overlay and Accessibility: Allowing background videos on Game Hubs to play Automatically. The same thing happen in BF many years ago, when they came out with Origin.

Hope it helps people who have the same issue on PC.

How do you disable this option? I really need this lol

Yes I disabled it, it improved a lot. Yes the last patch made the game run so bad, but disabling EA client overlay worked for me. I have more stable 165 fps, but Airship FPS may still be abit bad vs what I usually used to have.

The Origin Overlay or The Xbox overlay from Microsoft? I will link the commands to remove Xbox in Powershell as admin or you can google it. You also have to go into RegEdit and change 2 key values to 0 so it doesn’t pop up with going to Microsoft store to install when you open the game. When I get home from work.

Well you said disabling the origin overlay and accessibility was the only thing that worked so they probably want to know that. I already know how to do this and have done so. I just wanted to call out that you misread their comment.

Why in god's green earth would you play Apex on Origin when you can get the superior Steam version that has none of that crap?

If you never had issue for long time, there’s no reason to swap. It’s first now I got issue. Or else it have been server side issue.

Steam is 1000x better than Origin in both performance (literally no bugs) and features. I heavily recommend you make the switch.

Cause Apex wasnt originally on Steam and you dont wanna start from scratch and lose all your items?

That doesn't happen. I started with Origin and moved my account to Steam without any issues. You just need to link your EA account once and it transfers everything.

oh, okay will attempt the switch and report on the results

But I just check it out, Steam without overlay, a small again in fps, but its the servers. But I think, I will use the steam version. Some gain of stability is better than no stability. :)

Don't disable Steam's overlay. I know you disabled it on Origin because it was shit, but Steam has none of those issues so you should leave it on.

Ah, I will try it out thanks.
