I had also heard Core was coming out with a totally new design this year too so this could be that. I dunno nuthing!
Not coming out until next year. Have talked to multiple core riders in SA and apart from iterations of the current models, no new models are planned for this year
You mean the Aluula Xr? But the Regular XR8 is coming out in May?
I created a bot that scrapes ikitesurf and reports to me the perfect conditions amongst multiple spots, all in one place, in chronological order.
maybe they'll catch up with the SLS you've been championing :)
i got a few nexus 2s and an xlite to kinda make it all work on a foil.... would love a light weight nexus that can do it all, just havent been able to get my head around switching to duotone like you suggested
I wanted a lightweight Nexus when I switched. I don’t know how Core wasn’t on top of lighter materials earlier. Fwiw I use my core bars with the Duotones and they work great! Both high y.

Oh good to know. Its annoying having an xlite and a nexus in the same size...
Hopefully its coming because I was starting to get annoyed and starting to look at the SLS and the Aluula kites a bit more seriously.
Honestly I just need an opportunity to ride them. I've loved all the core kites I've flown, and I like the feel. I tried a dice and a juice a few years bag and didn't love it... but have not had a chance to ride any of the new stuff
The Evo SLS felt like Nexus 2 but better. Which kinda makes sense being lighter weight. I think it turns a little quicker. It definitely drifts better for foiling. It has better low end.
A lighter weight Nexus would probably improve in those same ways, they just gotta make one!
Speaking of 2 models of same size kites, the best part of switching to Evo SLS was I can twin tip and foil the same kite. I used to have XRs for twin tip and Nexuses for foiling. (I like jumping the foil.) On top of this my wife likes the Evo also lol.
Would be cool if you could try one sometime. I can’t imagine you wouldn’t like it!
Have a look at the ocean rodeo crave HL. It uses a bit of aluula, is as light as most single or no struts and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
Sounds sick. Boost machine and loopable
Normally they don’t print their name on prototypes…
Lol but Core can’t resist printing its name on anything

looks like a black kite with a yellow leading edge.

For the low pricepoint of 5500$ for a 7m
WHAT!? It a great times to start think about sailboat.
Or a career as a drug lord.
