Jeep Hurricane, Dune Racer, F150 Raptor, or Gator XUV?

Which one has the best turning radius and best to mod? Seems like the dune racer would last the longest for seat size but I hear turning radius is bad. Or would they all be similar?

I just plan to do the 18v Makita adapter and maybe some other stuff.

Dune racer 100%

Dune racer is very easy to work on and fits bigger kids.

I like the look of the Jeep and F150 but they don't leave a lot of room for kids as they get taller. The dune racer has much more leg room for taller kids. After spending time modding I want to make sure to get a lot of use out of it.

What do y'all do for a kid that's right at 3? I don't think he'll be able to sit all the way back and reach the pedal. Put some foam or something behind?

I like the dune racer so much that I bought two! I stripped the gears using 18v so you definitely need a speed controller to minimize damage. The turn radius has something to be desired but that doesn’t stop my 5yo from power-sliding through his K-turns. Kids will learn to manage.

How long did it take to strip the gears?

This soft start module should solve most of the issues right? Hoping to find one a little cheaper. Did you do any turn radius mods?

I now have the soft start in both models. The gears stripped out in one summer. Are there turning radius mods?

I think you clip a plastic piece where the steering wheel connects and there's one other thing

Does anyone have any idea how the turning radius on the 4 vehicles compares?

It's very easy to mod the steering on dune racer

I have a Dune Racer and have gone through a couple Peg Perego Gators, not sure about the others.

The Dune Racer is a superior machine, with metal frame parts, better gearboxes, and the ability to mount 775-sized motors to the gearbox instead of the standard 550 (which don't quite get through s season at 12v with my kids.

The best modifications I've made to mine are (1) wiring a battery tender charger into the vehicle so the kids can just plug it in every time they're done and (2) adding a second 12v battery (in parallel, not series) to the front trunk area for twice the battery life.
