We have a patio enclosed on 3 sides (U shape) and want to add a cover for the rain and leaves/limbs from the huge oak above the house. Our only option seems to be a glass roof patio cover to still let light into the house so it's not like a cave.

Problem is we only have 91" up to the edge of the roof and we have eaves that stick out 2'. The space is 21'x10'. The roof seems too low to butt up to the back eave, remove the gutters and seal against the eaves on the sides, and slope towards the yard with two support poles (which will prob look awkward and be in the way with 2ft eaves).

The other thought is to put the glass patio cover on top of the roof and overlap on all sides to prevent rain

Hey guys,

Just wondering what a fair price is for a 7ft2in cedar fence with 2x6 cedar cap, 1x2 cedar trim, and a 12" PTP rot board?

I've received several quotes at $44-$46/ft. Adding up materials comes out to $24.63/ft (incl nails, concrete, etc.) from home depot, so a contractors material cost should be lower.

And what do y'all think about labor? Is $20/ft fair, or would $10-$15/ft be more appropriate? I can't see these businesses paying their workers that difference. It seems like they're using inflation as an opportunity to increase profit margins.

Thanks!

Hey guys, just wondering what y'alls thoughts are on going either way?

I've had some people tell me the pine is going to warp real quick and to go with cedar; I've had others tell me the cedar is going to rot out underneath the shade of a big oak before the pine warps and extra screws will prevent the warping (I'm in Houston).

I've seen pine top caps warp around here but not sure how long it took and how well it was installed.

Does anyone have the folding bench? I'm looking at getting it but thinking twice because there was a review vid where they had to pull the legs out away from the bench to stop wobble. Or is it pretty solid?

Hey guys,

This seems to be the subreddit with the most discussion on air purifiers. Does anyone have any experience with the following units?

Coway Airmega 400S

Winix Tower XQ

Alen Breathesmart 75i

Would you recommend one over the others, any reasons to avoid them, or pretty much any of them will do? I cant find any solid comparisons between the units or reviews on the Winix QC.

They all seem to be solid units with similar specs. I guess the Alen is $250 more because it's made in USA?

Any help is much appreciated!

Hey guys, this detached garage is from 1960 and the wood looks great so I don't want to cover it up. Any way to make it look a little nicer and organized? I don't plan on adding drywall, insulation for the walls/ceiling, buying an insulated garage door, or doing any epoxy.

I honestly don't like the sterile look of a dentist office.

I've been looking at the JLC MUT Moon in rose gold for a couple years and now that they've updated it I think it's finally time. I'm thinking I can get 20% off and then 15.5% back on VAT.

But then comes along the Zenith Chronomaster Sport with white dial. Completely different watch, but really the only other watch I'm interested in. Since it's a hot item I'm unlikely to get a discount, but I can get 18% back on the VAT.

So, I need to make a decision because my wife says I can only have one and maybe get the other a couple years from now. This would be my only watch (outside of a smart watch).

What would you guys do?

It seems like Zenith has increased production or the hype has died down. What do you think?

I went to an AD on the Ponte Vechio in Florence that said they had a wait of 3 months for one. But then in Rome I walked in to an AD near the Spanish Steps that had a white and black dial on bracelet, and a black dial with strap. He's had them for a couple weeks and it's packed with tourists here.

It also seems like there are a ton more white dials on Chrono24. Time for the discounts?
