118k miles for 15k is it a good deal and if so how soon should I hop on this?

I'd be really weary. Very high mileage so don't get it if this is going to be your replacement daily driver. If you just want a cheap fun project car then maybe? Either way, good luck man!
Unless the camera was doing some sort of color correction, that appears to be more of a B5 Blue (rather than Frostbite).
definitely b5 blue same as my own.
If its an automatic you are good to go. If its a manual its probably in need of some work. Lots of power and a stick shift is bad news. My 2014 rt 6 speed with 100k was $15,500 needed a few things fixed but I absolutely love this car. Give it a very good look over and check the car fax. Plus those are some ugly wheels.
It's an automatic and I'm planning to get new rims on it when it's mine
Take the "new rims" money and add it to the $15k and see if you can find another Challenger for that price
….Automatics are way more expensive to fix and maintain 🤔….. give me the power in stick version any day.
Not even close, sticks are so hard on drivetrain parts. Soo much more expensive to rebuild. Trust me I love driving them as much as anyone but the modern autos 8 and 10 speeds are too good.
My advice would just be very careful and examine it thoroughly, I got a well maintained 15 RT at 101k in ToRRed and it was mechanically sound, but at some point since I’m keeping it I’m gonna put a brand new motor and trans in mine and test drive it for more than 30 mins , I drove mine for an hour an a half and really got on it to see if I could hear anything and it was straight as an arrow and if you can get it on a lift, it can be good deal sometimes but not always
I'll look through it and give it a test drive I'm not one for buying cars without testing them first
Mileage is less important than history. If it was well maintained and not beat on, 150k miles is not a big deal. But if it was driven hard and the owner didn’t take care of it, 60k miles could be enough for everything to be worn out.
Pay attention to overall condition. Paint condition and interior wear aren’t necessarily issues on their own, but they indicate how much the owner cared about their care.
The interior and everything looked to be in really nice shape. Whoever owned this car before definitely took care of it
If you do, 100% buy whatever high level warranty you can buy, I'm not kidding. The warranty on my 93k mile '10 RT has payed out $10k in repairs in the last 20k miles/2.7yrs
Just from my Mopar experience, around 8-10 years old, seals and gaskets start deteriorating and weeping fluids, water pumps go out between 110 and 130k miles, suspension bushings start squeeking and rotting away. Are any of those difficult to repair? Not really, but $100-150 here, $50-60 there starts to add up if doing g it your self, throw shop prices in if you don't have the confidence or experience or tools to do it yourself and a car you probably financed $15k for starts to add up to a lot more than $15k in the long run. I personally look for something 2-4 years old with 50k or less on the odometer.
Buy it
Aight

If it's just a weekend car you don't mind wrenching on paid cash sure. If your going to daily it id pass.
No
Why
Walk away
Why?
Don’t do it
Why?
It’s older then a 2014 and has 100k miles on it. The old owner(s) probably abused the fuck out of it.
A possibility
Just like everyone else has said. Test drive and if you got a friend who’s a mechanic, ask if he can check out the car with you. Check the engine to see if they changed any original factory parts with aftermarket parts.
Good luck brotha and hope the car is in great shape internally!
Thank you so much man I have a friend who works on cars and I'm planning to take him with me when we check the car out
Lol bruh. How is this even a question. No.
Why
115k miles bro. That is a lot. Doesn’t matter the price.
True but it'd be a good car
I mean, at the end of the day it's your money. I wouldn't buy it but if it makes you happy go for it.

I have less than 100k on my 2016 and I have had MANY items replaced on it. Thank god for my extra warranty!!
I got my RT at 119k for 13k so seems like you're in a good price zone. Honestly if I saw that one when I was shopping, I would have jumped on it.
I'm now at 186k and the engine runs strong. I've had to do an alternator, radiator, water pump, oil pressure sensor, and brakes but did all the work myself.
I would say first, check the carfax. If it has had regular oil changes every 3k-5k miles then you're solid on maintenance.
If you're comfortable working on your own cars then definitely a good buy. If not then I might avoid it.
If it's a 6 speed then probably expect a new clutch soon.
If you do get it, I would change the rear differential fluid and transmission fluid ASAP.
It's automatic and I expect to work on it really soon

You’re crazy.
I'm going for a shelby now
Stay away.
I cannot reiterate enough how much abuse these cars take and almost 120k in miles is likely going to cost you another $15k over time to keep it running.
Unless you're a mechanic and have no problem working on it yourself instead, not to mention all of the electronic issues you may come across, save your money. There's plenty of better options out there.
Here's one for example. 1 owner:

I'm gonna take it for a spin to see what's the faults or see if it's fine I'll keep you updated if I decide to get it
It would also be a good idea to have a mechanic inspect it as part of the test drive. If the dealership won't comply, that's a red flag.
Yeah lemme know how your test drive goes. Check the car fax closely.
I will, my man. Thank you for your advice and tips. It means a lot from one Mopar brother to another
No worries man. Glad to help out!
