Soil looks dry and clay-like. Monsteras generally prefer a chunky, airy soil. Do you know how much roots it has? At this point I would personally unpot it and put it in water or another propagating medium like sphagnum moss, wait until it's grown a robust root system to pot it up. If you find it's already got a good amount of roots (doubt) then switch it to an aroid mix: wood chips, sphagnum moss/coco coir, perlite, and some regular soil. You can mix it yourself according to any recipe you find on the internet or buy it prepackaged. Don't bury the petioles, the stem-like part that connects the leaf to the main stem. That can cause the leaf to rot away and it might be part of the issue here already.

Smaller plants are more sensitive to moisture fluctuations, so try to keep it more consistently, slightly moist, until it can handle going longer without water. It's basically a baby.

I doubt that it's a too much sun problem, unless you're absolutely starving it of water. Monsteras can take a lot of sun, especially when they're eased into it. It shouldn't have intense sun after a stressful situation like repotting, but more sun + more adequate water seems like the way to go.

It doesn't need the climbing stick until it gets a bit bigger, so you can leave it out for now if you want.

Do you know what species of monstera? My best guess is adansonii.

Thank you!! This is so helpful. It was a rooted cutting and I put it in regular potting soil, so the soil is fresh but it is dry because I'm always so scared to over water! So oops. Would succulent soil be better? I thought they needed more water retention. I thought it was just shocked from the potting and having a new home, and it turned very rainy and cloudy the last several weeks. Good to know about the climbing stick. I'm not sure at all what kind of monstera, it could be an adansonii. I hope it lives so i can find out!
