R1S options for early delivery?

❔ Question

I have an R1S order from late 2021. Every quarter I receive the email asking me to select the right options to ensure an accurate delivery estimate by the end of the month.

I understand that this is because Rivian is prioritizing certain configurations over others.

Is there consensus over which configurations for the R1S are being prioritized? Are there differences based on color, wheels, interior options or accessories that could make a big difference in the delivery timeline?

There were a ton of different configurations in the shop this week. It seems like there was every color, wheel , and interior option but nothing had any extra selections like PPF or underbody armor. I had PPF on my original preorder but got the same configuration without it in the R1 shop. Hope this helps!

Man…can’t wait to eat access to that some day. So far I’ve been able to get R1T shop access since I have a dual motor configured but the R1S is what I really want

I wish we had a YouTube stream of what was on the shop.

I feel you but the issue is I was so frantically trying to lock in my vehicle I might have blacked out 😂

That’s not really possible, since there’s separate access for the T and S Shops. Plus, I think it’s regional.

Set your delivery address to the nearest SC and try to get on a “leads list”. Say you’re able to purchase asap and keep saying you have flexibility with colors and options. You might be able to get on the list either by chatting with CS (this will take multiple attempts) or if you can, visit the SC / Hub for a test drive. Luckily I live by the Venice hub so I was there two weeks ago and was looking at the colors and kept telling the guy there I need to off load my current car asap and I love all the colors. Two weeks later I had a LG on 22s in my driveway.

If you go this route I would stay with a quad / large. I think next best option is to switch to dual / large for Q3ish delivery.

Living next to a service center makes no difference. I live within an hour of three service locations. 2020 reservation and still nothing.

I'm about five miles from a service center. I might drop by to see what's the deal.
