Cats and Rabbits: Buddies?

I've seen several site which claim cats and rabbits can be buddies, so my question is, have any of you successfully introduced your cats and bunnies?

We have an eight year old bunny and an eight week old kitten. Can they be successfully introduced? If so, how?

I have a kitten and bunny and there inseparable!! Here's a whole album of them together: http://imgur.com/a/mfOQX In the beginning our bunny was a little curious but within hours he warmed right up to her.

So much adorable! I wish my kitten and bunnies were more like this! My kitten (~11 months old) LOVES the bunnies, but the bunnies not so much. They tolerate him but that's about it.

Rediculously cute, such good friends.

I know there's a couple of rabbitors around here with both cats and rabbits, but in the meantime, here are a list of articles that may be helpful in your research:

Thank you.

The kitten was found in an engine bay. We got her vaccinated, chipped, and treated for ear mites. She's sweet as pie and learns really fast. Bunny comes first though. I'm really hoping they can integrate.

I have successfully introduced my fox terriers and my dwarf. i say you will have a pretty good chance seeing as you are introducing a kittern to the rabbit and not the other way around. good luck! http://www.rabbit.org/journal/2-11/cats-and-rabbits.html

just supervise and make sure neither freak out, introducing through a cage/slightly opened door can work well at first to gauge how they will react.

My roommate a few years ago had 3 cats, and my rabbits used to chase them around the apartment. One of the cats was even allowed [by the buns] to come into the cage for snugglin'.

My cat looooves my bunnies. He maos at me constantly until I let the buns out, and he'll just watch them for hours. Sometimes he "stalks" them, and the bunnies chase him around the room. They don't snuggle or anything, but they will boop noses and enjoy each other's company.

I've cat-sat for a friend of mine a couple of times. Each time I let our bunny investigate while the cat was locked in his carrier, until he decided he wasn't a threat. Then bunny had complete dominance! The cat ranged from mildly concerned about the bunny to terrified of him. Though a couple of times they sat quite close to one another and sniffed one another without the cat freaking out.

I think there would have been snuggles had they been together longer!

My Netherlands Dwarf (7mo) and my cat (5 years) love each other to death, they're the best of friends. Always playing and cuddling for nap times.

This is so good to hear. We're bringing home a new kitten this weekend and I'm worried about my two buns' reaction.
