C'mon man...

2

Brother Mouzone

5
ptamOP•

Hmm.... but then how does Avon turn om Stringer

3
tuskvarner•

I probably misunderstood the premise of your post. It’s true that Brother is crucial to the plot. I was thinking from the perspective of a character who is poorly written and doesn’t add much that improves the story.

Edit: More in the spirit of what you’re looking for, the Vice Principal of Tighnan Middle School (the man, not Mrs. Donnelly)

6
ptamOP•

Imo, he also provides a nice foil to Omar as well. But this is all up for some good debate.

2
ShillSimmons•

Any number of ways. But Brother Mouzone is a little... Billion-sy... cartoonish. Doesn't belong.

4
ptamOP•

He is based fairly accurately on "protection for hire" that Nation of Islam Provided. I agree I found him comical initially.

OhShitThatsTheJam•

Santangelo

5

Snot Boogie might be the most important character on the show.

5
metpharaoh•

Marlo

4
ptamOP•

Bold choice picking the main antagonist of two seasons.

3
metpharaoh•

I realize it probably an unpopular opinion but I just finished my first watch and couldn’t stand his character. I felt he lacked depth and was just so uninteresting to me.

6
miacanes5•

I need you to walk back up there and edit your comment. I’m being a gentleman about it for the moment

10
DACRQQKED•

I think of Marlo as the changing of the guard between generations, so It’s cool seeing his values and motives compared to Stringer or Avon. Avon and all of the old schools in the co-op came from a generation that had principles.

They didn’t start unnecessary beef. They respected the safe grounds of the church. Remember the uproar when Avon’s crew attacked Omar at church? Meanwhile Marlo cuts the co-op out and risks war with the whole city. And he kills a working man for respectfully asking him not to steal right in front of him.

Kid Marlo didn’t respect any of the rules of the game. He represents a generation that only cares about winning and power.

4
MoogTheDuck•

Wait did he kill the security guard?

2
HalfastEddie•

It’s not that it’s unpopular, it doesn’t fit OP’s question; who could leave the show without affecting anything? Obviously Marlo is a primary character.

2
metpharaoh•

Sheeeeeit you’re 100% right I definitely didn’t read that thoroughly enough

3
MoogTheDuck•

Mcnulty

commschamp•

Bunny’s deputy guy who just reacts to everything with his eyebrows

3
erektshaun•

His actual name is jays landsman, and was baltimore city po lice. Look it up

2
ptamOP•

Yeah, the reason his role was so minor is because... he wasn't actually that great of an actor.

1
erektshaun•

Not at all lol, but he was the real deal

2

No way. Gotta keep real Jaybird in there. Plus his accent is gold.

1
rxFMS•

No heart Anthony.

3
ptamOP•

Only in one scene. Sorry.

1

Donut

2
CharacterRide7091•

Hell no, Donut was entertaining as hell.

3

other than being entertaining he could be cut and not effect any plot

1
JChase718•

Polk and/or Mahone

2
commschamp•

Nah that punch and cigarette is integral to the plot

1
Black-Fraction•

Read my lips, Avon fucking Barksdale!

2
uglylittledogboy•

All the pieces matter

2

Could Rhonda be a valid answer? In the fact any states attorney could be put there. Or did she do enough bending of the rules for the squad that she had an affect?

2
ptamOP•

It does not fit my intended criteria but this is an open thread for discussion.

1
pr0ject_84•

That one guy who wanted to throw himself down the stairs in s1

2
ptamOP•

Auggie Polk. Good answer.

1
pr0ject_84•

Best character in the show

2
ptamOP•

Glad to see he landed alright.

2
ViperPM•

Scott Templeton

2
MissDice1122•

The cop who was buolding a beach house

2
ptamOP•

How's that beach house coming along?

1
samlir•

Sydnor

1†
elegant_solution21•

The lady cop (her name eludes me) on the detail in season 3 (with the coupons) is more irrelevant than either the humps or Sydnor. Although she may be borderline Eunetta

5
webjester32•

Caroline.

2
ptamOP•

We would have seen more of her, but you know she got the bingo tonight!

2
ptamOP•

I did not think I'd have my mind blown in a couple minutes but... You might be right.

Nah Lil Kevin is important to the Bodie arc, imo.

7
kzapwn•

Not that Kevin lol

4

Flat Nose Kevin? Big Kevin? Kev Kev?

6
kzapwn•

Reeces. Tea in a can. That Kevin

Johnny or either of the two humps from Season 1’s detail

Edit: Johnny, while I didn’t like him, him getting beat up led to Bubbles working with the police…so give me Mahone and Polk , the two drunks from the first detail

1

Johnny 50? But they rounded it off to make it—what do you call it—more poetical!

2
ptamOP•

I think he's speaking of Bubs old sidekick.

2

That’s worse! Johnny Weeks was a Viking, holmes.

3
miacanes5•

No…bubbles’ johnny. Pissing in a bag Johnny

1

Whoa, Johnny Weeks?? Loved that fucked up goofball.

1
miacanes5•

But I guess Johnny getting whooped set off the whole Bubbles snitching spree…can’t just eliminate anybody it seems, all the pieces matter
