Yes they often make a noise. Personally I like the clickclacks

As for lying down they're not that big and you can shift them around like unbeaded braids

It can be, but there are so many different types, shapes, and materials that you find something that both fits your style and will be comfortable and either doesn't make noise or makes a satisfying one
