Had a bike thief cut one off and just replaced it with a hair tie.

I put hinges and toggle latches on mine and I'm so glad I ditched the breakable bungees.

Inspired by u/bacterialove, we made it better. Rough but acceptable, and the kid did most of the work.

Saw a post earlier on this sub some put a lock on his!
Now you’ve got me thinking. I think it’s one of the front ones that needs to be replaced. I could move the single in the back to the front and then put a lock or latch on it. That is, if they don’t find one at the Rad shop. (The bike is in for some minor work.)
one guy had hinges on the right side and latch lock on the left. also seen one had the lock on the seat side and hinge on the other side. i wanna buy it cause it looks cool to mod but it gets in a way too much. step thru is really nice when i'm doing doordash
Yeah, our big issue is that it’s not a good anchor point for the bike rack brace. (I recommended he take metal shop next year and make his own.)
