I wouldn't put too much faith in the battery lock keeping the battery secure from theft. I dropped my key just outside of my garage after turning it on. I didn't notice until I got to work and wanted to turn the battery off. After a few minutes of head scratching I found out that I could actually turn the lock with a fingernail clipper file. It also looks like you can get universal keys for this lock model on amazon and ebay for about $10.
